Please note that the patch is required for all full versions of the game, even the newer ones like Steam. The easiest way to install a full version of Quake II is to start with the patch. Like it has been said, downloading sourceport base for further filesdigging is demanded: Actually, if to dig the files on the CD, it could even pass without the formal install.
